Catfish (English band)
Catfish is a British blues-rock - band from Sussex in southern England .
history
The four musicians Matthew Long (guitar, vocals), Paul Long (keyboards, vocals), Dusty Bones (bass) and Kevin Yates (drums) began performing in pubs in Sussex in 2014. They were named after the Catfish Blues by Robert Petway (1941).
Her first album So Many Roads with covers of classic blues songs was released in January 2015 and reached number one on the IBBA (Independent Blues Broadcasters Association) airplay charts. In honor of BB King , they released the EP When BB Sings the Blues at the beginning of 2016 (No. 5 in the Airplay Charts). In the same year the band was nominated for a British Blues Award in the "Blues Band" category, but had to give way to the Nimmo Brothers . However, Paul Long won in two categories: "Keyboard Player" and "Independent Blues Broadcaster" (he has his own radio show). Paul's son Matt was third in the “Young Artist” category.
The second album by the band Broken Man was released in January 2017; it mainly contained own compositions. This album also reached number one on the IBBA Airplay Charts. It was also voted Album of the Year 2017.
In 2018 the band received the UK Blues Award in the category "Regional: Blues Act of the Year - England". In May 2019, Catfish, now with Adam Pyke on bass, released their third album Burning Bridges , which received mostly good reviews.
