Catherina von Zehmen (* 1513 ; † September 20, 1558 in Mohrungen ), ancestor of all Prussian Dohnas, married to Peter Burggraf zu Dohna

Life

She came from the old Meissen-Saxon noble family von Zehmen . Her father Achatius von Zehmen was a Polish civil servant and diplomat and an important advisor to Duke Albrecht von Brandenburg-Ansbach . Her mother was Helene von Merklichenrade. In 1532, in the presence of the Königsberg court , she married the Duke. Rate and Captain zu Mohrungen, Peter Burgrave zu Dohna . Both have monuments in the church at Mohrungen with portraits and ancestral tables. Together they had eight children: Achatius, Heinrich, Albrecht, Friedrich, Sophie, Christoph, Abraham and Johann. One of her grandchildren was Fabian I. von Dohna .
