Cathedral of Saint Eugene (English: St. Eugen's Cathedral) is the cathedral of the Catholic diocese of Santa Rosa , in California , United States of America.
history
The first Catholic misson was founded by the Spain in the early 1800s on the site of the current cathedral. The first church was built in 1829. In 1868 the city of Santa Rosa was founded.
The parish of St. Eugene on the eastern outskirts of Santa Rosa was founded on July 1, 1950 by the Archbishop of San Francisco John Mitty . The church was consecrated on November 25, 1951. On February 20, 1962, the diocese of Santa Rosa was established by separating areas of the Archdiocese of San Francisco and the church became its cathedral.
