Cathleen Grunert

Cathleen Grunert (* 1972 ) is a German educator.

Life

She completed her studies (1990 to 1995) in educational science at the Martin Luther University with a diploma. From 1995 to 1998 she was a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Education and was a scholarship holder of the Hans Böckler Foundation . After completing the doctoral procedure in October 1998, she was a post-doctoral candidate from 1998 to 2001 within the doctoral program “Biographical Risks and New Professional Challenges”. From 2001 to 2008 she was a research assistant (C1) in the general educational science department . Since June 2008 she has headed the department “Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods in Educational Science”. After her habilitation in 2011 - Venia legendi for educational science, focus: general educational science, she represented the professorship for general educational science at the University of Halle in the 2013/2014 winter semester. In 2015 she turned down the call to the Philipps University of Marburg for the W2 professorship for general educational science. In 2015 she refused the call to Marburg for the W2 professorship for educational science with a focus on research methods (quantitative and qualitative methods of empirical educational research). Since October 2015 she has been teaching as a professor for general educational science at the FernUniversität in Hagen .

Her main research interests are childhood and youth research, science research; Professional research, university, labor market, evaluation research and qualitative and quantitative research methods.
