Cathrine Paaske Sørensen (born June 14, 1978 ) is a Danish soccer player. She plays for Linköping FC and the Danish national team . She is one of the world's best attacking midfielders .

Career

Cathrine Paaske Sørensen grew up in the small town of Dannemare, ten kilometers from Nakskov , in the far west of the island of Lolland . At the age of six she started her football career at Rudbjerg BK, where she played with two other girls in a boys' team. At the age of 16 Paaske Sørensen had to look for a women's team. Since there was no appropriate team on the entire island of Lolland, they moved to the second division B 1921 Nykøbing on the island of Falster . Two years later she moved to the first division club Rødovre BK in front of the gates of Copenhagen . For two years, she had to drive 150 kilometers there and back four times a week to get to training or the games. Only after graduating from high school did she move to Copenhagen and join Hillerød BK. In the summer of 2000 she finally moved to Brøndby IF , where she still plays today. There she met coach Peer Danefeld, who turned the defensive midfielder into an offensive midfielder. She achieved all successes in the Brøndby jersey. On August 14, 2009, she played her 100th international match against Scotland. In so far (as of October 7, 2010) 121 internationals for the Danish selection, she scored 36 goals.
