The moths reach a wingspan of 70 to 80 millimeters. The upper forewing is marbled gray-brown to dark brown. Inner and outer transverse lines are black and strongly jagged. While the kidney flaw is mostly only hinted at, the light gray sub-kidney flaw below it stands out clearly. A strong, wavy, black line runs diagonally from the front edge of the basal region to the sub-kidney flaw. On the predominantly black-brown upper side of the rear wing there is a light yellow band that runs in a semicircle from the front to the inner edge. The fringes are black and yellow and white pied.
