Cats on Trees is a French pop - duo , whose style as "perfect symbiosis between folk " and pop "or simply as indie " is called and its debut album in 2013 equal to platinum reached status.
Band history
Cats on Trees was founded in 2007 in Toulouse by two school friends Nina Goern and Yohan Hennequin. They had previously been involved in other band projects and now found a sound that was mainly orchestrated with drums and keyboards , carried Goern's memorable voice and with which they performed around their hometown.
A first EP soon followed, but it wasn't until 2013 that their debut album Cats on Trees was released in their home country France and Wallonia . They had worked on it for three years. It was immediately a great success and reached number 9 on the French album charts . The released single Sirens Call made it to 3rd place. In French-speaking Belgium, the album came to number 12, the single to number 5.
However, Cats on Trees do not use their native French for their texts , but rather English, which is geared towards international pop music markets . Accordingly, the album was launched in other countries in 2014, for example in Germany in June.
