Jean Jacques Antoine Caussin de Perceval
Jean Jacques Antoine Caussin de Perceval (born June 24, 1759 in Montdidier , † July 29, 1835 in Paris ) was a French orientalist .
Caussin de Perceval devoted himself to oriental studies at an early age and was professor of Arabic at the Collège de France in Paris from 1782 until his death . In addition, he became curator of the manuscript department at the royal library in 1787 . During the turmoil of the French Revolution , however, he lost this office again in 1792. From 1809 he was a member of the third class of the institute. In 1816 he became a member of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres .
