Caustic Christ was an American hardcore / anarcho-punk / crustcore band from Pittsburgh .

history

The band was formed in 2000 by guitarist Eric Good and bassist Corey Lyons, who were both playing in the band Aus-Rotten at the time, and Bill Chamberlain after he left his band React and moved from Connecticut to Pittsburgh . Together with drummer Ron Wingrove they began to rehearse, record a demo and play smaller, local concerts. But shortly afterwards the band met with a stroke of fate when Wingrove was hit by a car in the spring of 2001 and could no longer perceive his position on the drums due to permanent brain damage. During this time, Greg Mairs, who played for Submachine, stepped in as a temporary replacement and ultimately became the band's permanent drummer. On May 5, 2009 Caustic Christ gave their last concert in Pittsburgh and then broke up. In 2015 the band reformed for two concerts in Pittsburgh. In 2016, the band performed again at a benefit concert for the family of the late former municipal waste drummer Brandon Farrell.

Greg Mairs is a member of Short Dark Strangers and Corey Lyons plays with Kim Phuc.
