cdrdao is a free burning program with a write function for creating CD-ROMs . The software was released under the GPL . cdrdao burns music or data CD-Rs using the DAO method. This is based on a textual description of the CD content ( TOC , Table of Contents). The program runs from the command line and has no graphical user interface .
cdrdao is platform-independent software and is therefore compatible with most operating systems , such as B. FreeBSD , IRIX , Linux , Solaris , HP-UX , Windows , OS / 2 , UnixWare and macOS executable.
cdrdao supports external drives - which e.g. B. are connected via USB or FireWire - as soon as a SCSI device is available in the operating system - example: "/ dev / sr0"
Exact Audio Copy , an advanced program package for the secure ripping of (music) CDs , can optionally be downloaded with the cdrdao writing routines and can be used to burn audio CDs. The software Burrrn also uses cdrdao in the built-in burn function.
