Cecil Matthews
Cecil Matthews ( Cecil Henry Matthews; born October 13, 1914 in Christchurch , † November 8, 1987 in Auckland ) was a New Zealand long-distance runner .
At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, he was eliminated over 5000 m in the preliminary run.
In 1938 he won the British Empire Games in Sydney with personal bests over three miles (13: 59.6 min) and six miles (30: 14.5 min).
In 1936 and 1938 he was New Zealand Champion over three miles.
