Cecilia Grierson (born November 22, 1859 in Buenos Aires , † April 10, 1934 ) was an Argentine doctor , teacher and philanthropist . She was the first woman to receive a doctorate in medicine in Argentina and, as a prominent freethinker, campaigned for women's rights in general.

Memberships

She supported an association called “Asociación Argentina de Libre Pensamiento (AALP)”, in connection with which she advocated rationalism, anti-clericalism, a scientific approach to life and full equality for women.
