Cees Hamelink

Cees Hamelink January (* 14. September 1940 in Rotterdam ) is an Emeritus Professor of International Communication at the University of Amsterdam and professor of media, religion and culture at the Free University of Amsterdam .

Hamelink studied philosophy and psychology in Amsterdam. In the course of his career he has worked as a journalist and as a media and communications consultant for various international organizations and national governments.

He is editor-in-chief of the International Communication Gazette , a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Creative Communications, and past President of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR).
