Celal Altun

Celal Altun (* 1959 in Adana , Turkey ) is the former General Secretary of the Turkish Community in Berlin and the current Chairman of the Turkish Society as well as the founder of the first nursing home for citizens of Turkish origin in Germany. Altun can be seen regularly as a conversation partner in the ZDF forum on Friday .

Born in Turkey, he came to Berlin with his family in 1967 as a child. He studied economics and then worked in various independent activities. In 2003 he was appointed to the board of the Turkish Community in Berlin, where he stayed until 2007.

Celal Altun draws attention to itself with numerous socio-political activities and committee work at the state level, especially in the area of ​​integration and intercultural coexistence. In 2006, for example, the so far unique Berlin nursing home Türk Bakim Evi was built on his initiative .
