Celebration on the original De-Lite label

Celebration is a song of the band Kool & The Gang from the year 1980 . It reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1981 from February 7, 1981 to February 20, 1981, and came in at number 7 in the UK .

The song was also played after the Tehran hostage situation when the hostages returned to their homeland, and it was sung by Gonzo in the movie Muppets from Space . The song was heard in the episode Everybody Hates Tattaglia of the series Everyone Hates Chris and in the episode Grandpa Against Sexual Failure of the series The Simpsons .
