The Celtman Xtreme Triathlon is a triathlon -Sportveranstaltung over the long distance in Shieldaig and the region Wester Ross , in Scotland . It has been held annually in June since 2013.

This competition, together with the Norseman (in Norway) and Swissman (in Switzerland), forms the series of Xtreme Triathlons.

The race over the Ironman distance was held for the first time in 2012 with 108 finishers. In 2013, the German Kathrin Müller (triathlete) won in 13:05 hours and finished 11th in the overall ranking.

Route

  • The swimming distance starts in Shieldaig and covers 3.4 km in the Atlantic. Due to the cold, the distance to the Ironman was shortened by 400 meters. The temperature when swimming is around 12 degrees Celsius.
  • The cycling distance of 200 km and 2000 hm goes through the Scottish Highlands.
  • The final marathon runs through the Highlands, with two Munro (mountains) over 3000 ft (914 meters) to be conquered
