The Cementerio Santa Ifigenia is a cemetery in Santiago de Cuba that was inaugurated in 1868. In 1937 the cemetery was declared a national monument of Cuba , this was confirmed by the revolutionary government in 1979.

Countless well-known personalities, members of the Bacardi family and heroes of the Wars of Independence and the Cuban Revolution are buried on it. Many tombs are made of marble or expensive granite and have been used for generations.

The tomb of the national hero José Martí is located in the cemetery . The 24 meter high, white limestone mausoleum was inaugurated in 1951 according to plans by the architect Jaime Benavent .
