description

The Central Bar is located in the city center on Main Street , Renton's main street. The two-story building dates from 1893 and is one of the few remaining historical buildings in the city. The masonry is made of sandstone . The asymmetrical, east-facing front is still largely in its original condition. At ground level, two entrances lead into the interior of the building, which flank a window front with a cast-iron protective grille. The entrances are closed off with segmental arches, which are provided with cast iron ornamental grilles. Blinding pillars frame the facade at the building edges . Two twin windows with round arches are evenly arranged on the upper floor. In between there is a coat of arms stone, which also shows the year of construction 1893. The interior is a bar room with a Victorian design that has rarely been preserved in such good condition . The wooden counter is fitted with brass handrails.
