Center d'Études Supérieures de la Renaissance

The Center d'Études Supérieures de la Renaissance (CESR) is a study center for the study of the Renaissance, affiliated with the University of Tours .

The center was founded in 1956 as a research unit of the CNRS in the humanities faculty of the University of Tours on the initiative of Gaston Berger and Pierre Mesnard. It offers courses specializing in literature, music and philosophy of the Renaissance. The CESR has a specialized research library and publishes several series.
