Center d'art contemporain Genève

The Center d'art contemporain Genève (CAC) was established in 1974 as an exhibition space for contemporary art.

It was the first institution of its kind in Suisse Romande , French-speaking Switzerland , and to date (2015) has hosted more than 300 exhibitions. In 2010, the CAC took over the tasks of the previous Center pour l'Image Contemporaine (CIC), which was set up in 1985 to show exhibitions and events that deal with new technologies such as video, multimedia and the Internet as well as photography and film .

In addition to the exhibitions with works by international artists such as Joseph Beuys , August Sander or William Kentridge , works by various contemporary Swiss artists such as Olaf Breuning , Pipilotti Rist , Ugo Rondinone , Valentin Carron and Philippe Decrauzat were shown.
