Cephalicus

The cephalicus ( Latin for belonging to the head ) is a neume in the notation of Gregorian chant and represents the liquescensored form of the clivis .

In the square notation of the cephalicus, the last punctum is set as a key note . In the manuscripts, the lines at the end of the group neume are shortened and curved.
