Cereus roseiflorus is a species of plant in the genus Cereus from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet roseiflorus means 'rose-blooming, red-blooming'.
description
Cereus roseiflorus grows tree-shaped with several upright, green shoots and reaches heights of up to 5 meters. There are six notched ribs up to 3.5 inches high. The areoles on it are 2 to 2.5 centimeters apart. The three thorns emerging from them are enlarged at the base and up to 1 centimeter long.
The slightly pink flowers are up to 20 centimeters long. The egg-shaped fruits are up to 7 centimeters long and purple-red.
Distribution and systematics
Cereus roseiflorus is common in the Argentine province of Misiones . The first description was published in 1925 by Carlos Luis Spegazzini .
