Cernowe

The place Cernowe is a desert in what is now the Mecklenburg Lake District in southern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Traditional

Cernowe is mentioned as a settlement in 1261. It was located in the Röbelschen Feldmark near Röbel , southwest of the Müritz . The exact location and the reason for the abandonment of the place is unknown.

Place name

The place name is of Slavic origin and contains the syllable cern , which can be translated into German as black or black place .
