Cerro Morado

The Cerro Morado (Spanish violet mountain ) is a 5,000 m high mountain in the Argentine department of Iruya near the village of Colanzulí .

There are two small lakes near the summit, where silver herons hang out in summer .

In the months from April to November it is possible to climb the mountain. Outside of this time, there is a risk of death due to lightning strikes due to thunderstorms that often come up very quickly.
