Colanzulí is a district of the village of Rodeo Colanzulí in north-western Argentina . It is located in the Iruya Department of Salta Province , 23 km from the village of Iruya . The neighboring district of Río Grande is about 2.5 km on the unsurfaced road Ruta Provincial 165-S .
Colanzulí is part of Finca Santiago , the first community property in Argentina. About 30 families of farmers, shepherds and artisans live in Colanzulí.
Colanzulí consists of the two parts Abra Laite and Campo Tapial . The Iruya river , which is called "Colanzulí" at this point, has its source near Abra Laite, in the south of Colanzuli . Campo Tapial is 2 km north of Abra Laite. There is the primary school (escuela Nº4113) of the village Rodeo Colanzulí . About 95 pupils attend the school, which has overnight accommodation for children from more distant places.
The name "Colanzuli" comes from Quechua and means something like "place of the violet stones".

Buses run from Iruya to Colanzulí via Ruta Provincial 133 . The bus stops at the Abra Colorada stop (location: 22 ° 53 ′ S , 65 ° 15 ′ W ). From there you can walk to the place via the Ruta Provincial 165-S in half an hour. From Iruya you can walk to the village in around four hours.
