Cetelem (French Compagnie pour le financement des équipements électro-ménagers - company for the financing of electrical household appliances) is a banking group. Cetelem is a subsidiary of BNP Paribas , which has specialized in consumer credit since it was founded in 1953 .

The Cetelem Bank is based in Levallois-Perret in the Region Ile-de-France . François Villeroy de Galhau has been the managing director since 2003. In 1999, Cetelem Bank was integrated into BNP Paribas .

Cetelem Bank worldwide

In 1966, Cetelem SA was listed on the Paris Stock Exchange. Cetelem founded numerous foreign subsidiaries from 1984 to 1998. Today it is represented in 17 countries in Europe and another 10 countries worldwide. It has over 30 million customers and over 23,000 employees worldwide.

Cetelem Banque France

The Cetelem Bank in France offers installment financing for Carrefour, Conforama, Tor, Ikea, Tryba, Midas, but also for banks, insurance companies and car dealers.

BNP Paribas Personal Finance

In July 2008, Cetelem Bank decided to work with UCB, a specialist in real estate loans in Europe. Both form BNP Paribas Personal Finance, a specialist in auto, consumer, consumer and real estate loans.

Dresdner-Cetelem credit bank

In 2001, Cetelem Bank took over 70% of WKV Bank in Munich and established Cetelem Bank in Germany. In 2005, Dresdner Bank (as an Allianz SE subsidiary) acquired a 49.9 percent stake, while Cetelem Bank still held 50.1 percent. The name is changed to Dresdner-Cetelem Kreditbank GmbH . With the merger of Dresdner Bank with Commerzbank, the shares in Dresdner Bank were transferred to Commerzbank AG in May 2009. At the beginning of June 2010 the name was changed to Commerz Finanz GmbH.
