David Garbelli

David Garbelli (born October 28, 1981 ) is an Italian track and road cyclist .

David Garbelli was junior runner-up in the 1999 points race on the track. In 2001 he became European champion in the U23 points race in Fiorenzuola . On the road, he won the overall ranking of the Berlin four-stage trip in 2002, the two one-day races Giro della Valsesia and Giro del Belvedere , as well as a stage and the overall ranking at the Tour de Berlin . In 2003 he won the Gran Premio della Liberazione and at the end of the season drove as a stagiaire with Domina Vacanze-Elitron . In the 2005 season Garbelli was successful at the Trofeo Alcide Degasperi and in 2006 he won the Gran Premio Industrie del Marmo , as well as a stage at the Baby Giro . In 2007 he drove for the Italian Continental Team Kio Ene-Tonazzi-DMT until May .

In 2006 Garbelli received a warning from the World Cycling Federation Union Cycliste Internationale because he had tested positive for prohibited substances during a doping control. In 2007, Garbelli and Samuel Fabbro were banned for four years. Fabbro had pretended to be Garbelli during a doping test.
