The title was presented as part of the Armenian Grand Prix preliminary decision Depi Jewratessil 2020 . Manoukian won this on February 15, 2020 with 168 points. The day before the title appeared as a download and stream.
Content
Chains on You is an up-tempo number with R&B influences . According to the singer said in the song Diamonds (stand Diamonds ) as a metaphor for the talent and the value of a person, which are covered by other people. However, these qualities would eventually be recognized by someone.
At the Eurovision Song Contest
Armenia should have performed this song in the second semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. However, due to the advancing COVID-19 pandemic , the competition was canceled.

According to Irving Wolther, Manoukian's victory in the preliminary decision “cannot really be understood musically or vocally”, but she deserves recognition for her “efforts to copy American models as faithfully as possible”.
