Chakery (also the spelling Chakri and Thiakry (Senegal) is used) is a dessert in the West African states of Gambia and Senegal .

A quarter of it consists of sour cream (or crème fraîche ) and three quarters of natural yogurt . Depending on the recipe, sugar , condensed milk , desiccated coconut , crushed pineapple , nutmeg or vanilla are added. The whole thing is given over couscous . The chakery can be served like this or both parts are first mixed.

Chakery is sold on the street and at market stalls at around a tenth of a liter for a few Dalasi . You can squeeze out the little bags through a bitten corner and suck it out. But it can also be bought in the supermarket through a Senegalese dairy.
