Channarong Ratanaseangsuang

Channarong Ratanaseangsuang ( Thai : ชาญ ณรงค์ รัตน แสง สรวง ; * 1939 ) is a former Thai badminton player who later started for Canada.

Athletic career

In his home country he won the Thai championships in mixed with Prathin Pattabongse and in men's singles in 1961 . In the same year he also won the men's singles title at the Southeast Asian Games .

In the Thomas Cup in 1961 , he and the Thai team lost the final against Indonesia and thus became team vice world champion. In 1964, Thailand finished third in the Thomas Cup. In 1963 he lost to the All England in the final against Erland Kops . At the open USA championships he won in 1964 in men's singles and in mixed with Margaret Barrand . In 1968 he was successful again in the individual.

In Canada he won the double ranking with Raphi Kanchanaraphi in 1974, 1975 and 1976 and also acted as a playing coach for Canada in the Thomas Cup in 1970, 1973 and 1976.
