Chaos UK (also spelled Chaos UK ) is a British hardcore punk band that was formed in Portishead in 1979 . They are one of the most influential bands in hardcore punk.

history

Chaos UK was founded in 1979 by singer Simon, guitarist Andy, bassist Kaos and drummer Potts. After a demo recorded with this line-up in 1981 , Riot City Records signed the band and released the singles Burning Britain (# 8 in the UK Indie Charts ) and Loud Political & Uncompromising (# 27 in the UK Indie Charts) in 1982 . A little later, singer Simon and drummer Spots left the band, bassist Kaos changed to the position of singer, Nige became the new bassist and Spot the new drummer. In 1983 the self-titled debut album was released on Riot City Records, which reached number 16 on the UK indie charts.

The line-up changed again, with the exception of Kaos, all members left the band. With the new line-up Mower (vocals), Gabba (electric guitar), Kaos (electric bass) and Chuck (drums), Children of the Revolution released the single Short Sharp Shock in 1984 . Together with Extreme Noise Terror , the split album Earslaughter was released in 1986 by Manic Ears Records . Then the band paused until 1989 without giving any reason. With Beki as the new bass player and Kaos as the singer again, Chaos UK released the album Chipping Sodbury Bonfire Tapes on the band's own label Slap Up and between 1989 and 1991 numerous singles with small independent labels until the next album Total Chaos was released by Anagram in 1991 . The live album Chaos in Japan was also released in 1991 .

In the meantime, Vic (ex- Reagan Youth ) had joined the band as a second guitarist and Devilman had replaced Chuck on drums. The next album, Floggin 'the Corpse , was released in 1996, after which all members except for singer Kaos and guitarist Gabba left Chaos UK, the new bassist was J and the new drummer was Phil Thudd. A contract with Century Media followed and three more studio albums by 2000. The last release so far was a split single with FUK in 2006.
