The Chapanov peak (English; Bulgarian Чапанов връх Tschapanow wrach ) is a rocky, partially unvereister and 600 m high mountain on the Oskar-II.-coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 1.95 km northwest of Diralo Point , 2.58 km southeast of Zahariev Peak and 5.85 km west of Kaloyanov Peak in Metlichina Ridge . The Punchbowl Glacier is located north-northeast and the Borima Bay south of him.
British scientists mapped it in 1964. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2012 after the meteorologist Zontscho Tschapanow (1930–1971), who was the first Bulgarian scientist in Antarctica to work at the Soviet Mirny Station from January to April 1967 .
