Chariesterus antennator is a bug from the family of the edge bugs (Coreidae).
features
The light brown colored slender bugs are 11-14 mm long. The base of the two antennae is close together. The antennae are characteristic of this type of bug. The last antenna element is shaped like a clapper. The penultimate antenna segment is black and widened flat. The light green colored nymphs also have a widened penultimate antennae.
Occurrence
The type of bug occurs in the Nearctic . It is found east of the Rocky Mountains in the United States and Canada . To the south their distribution area extends to Costa Rica .
Way of life
The bugs usually fly from April to October. Representatives of the genus Spurge ( Euphorbia ), in particular Euphorbia dentata and Euphorbia corollata, serve as host and fodder plants .
