Charles Auguste Varsavaux
Charles Auguste Varsavaux , pseudonym Waléry (born September 30, 1866 in Paris ; died April 20, 1935 there ) was a French theater and portrait photographer and illustrator of music books.
He was the official photographer of the Ballets Russes during their 1912 guest appearance in Paris. A number of his portraits by Vaslav Nijinsky and Tamara Karsawinas as characters in the ballet Le Dieu bleu by choreographer Michel Fokine are in the holdings of the Bibliothèque nationale de France .
After the death of Stanisław Julian Ignacy Ostroróg , Varsavaux took over his photo studio in Paris and called himself Waléry like his predecessor.
