Charles Bochsa

Charles (Karl) Bochsa (*? In Bohemia ; † 1821 in Paris ) was a French composer , oboist , publisher and music dealer.

Charles Bochsa was of Bohemian origin. He worked as a military musician and later as an oboist at the theaters in Lyon and Bordeaux . Around 1806 he settled in Paris as a publisher and music dealer and died there in 1821. The father of Robert Nicolas-Charles Bochsa left behind numerous chamber music works in various ensembles and wrote the textbook for flute “Méthode et Airs pour la Flute”.
