Charles Chaulieu

Charles Chaulieu (born December 21, 1788 in Paris , † 1849 in London ) was a French composer and music teacher .

Chaulieu studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with Louis Adam and Charles Simon Catel and won first prizes in the subjects of piano and harmony. Between 1833 and 1835 he published the journal Le Pianiste . He wrote a number of music pedagogical writings and composed romances and sonatas for the piano and piano arrangements of opera arias, which were published by Henry Lemoine . From around 1840 he lived in London.
