Charlotte Christine Wilhelmine from Gilsa
Charlotte Christine Wilhelmine von und zu Gilsa (born January 2, 1752 in Gilsa ; † April 7, 1822 in Homberg (Efze) ) was abbess of the Wallenstein monastery in Homberg from October 18, 1796 to April 7, 1822 .
Life
Gilsa was the sixth child of Carl Ludwig von und zu Gilsa (1717–1755) and Charlotte Dorothea, née von Löwenstein (1716–1779). From 1796 she was abbess of the Wallenstein Abbey in Homberg. In 1809 she was involved in the preparations for the Dörnberg uprising against Jérôme Bonaparte . Both Gilsa and Löwenstein are still enrolled in the Althessian knighthood today .
