Charlottenlust

The Charlottenlust is the northernmost district of the core city of Wernigerode . The residential area , consisting primarily of single-family houses, borders the Harzblick prefabricated housing estate in the south . In the north, east and west, Charlottenlust is surrounded by fields. The wooded Charlottenlust hill rises north of the district .

The Quasselstrippe operation of Lebenshilfe eV and the Linde Pony Farm are located in Charlottenlust .

history

The Charlottenlust Vorwerk was created between 1728 and 1733 by clearing the Reddeber wood. The name of the village is derived from the nickname of Count Christian Ernst zu Wernigerode's wife , Sophie Charlotte, née Countess zu Leiningen-Westerburg.
