action

The adventure stories chronologically describe the exploits of children from Tel Aviv who founded the Chasamba secret society to support the Haganah in their Zionist actions with the aim of establishing the state of Israel . Then they fight supposed enemies of the state of Israel in order to prevent military infiltration and espionage . The group took an active part in the Arab-Israeli wars until 1994.

The stories also contain information on science and history. The stories should underline positive character traits such as friendliness, good behavior, loyalty, friendship, commitment, courage and love of home.

Jaron ("The Commander") and Tamar ("The Beautiful") form the leaders of the secret children's society as a couple. In later books they are replaced by Joaw and Rachel. Two first-generation heroes, Eliahu Hermon and Rafael Kaduri, perish. Years later, Jaron and Tamar get married and their son Uri heads the underground organization in Book 25.
