Jean-Marc "Che" Peyer (born May 7, 1950 in Adliswil ) is a Swiss boogie-woogie and blues pianist and blues harp player from Zurich . He graduated from the commercial high school and broke off his career as a karateka and athlete, and in 1966 laid the foundation for his musical career.

Career

For several years he performed with it solo or together with his friend and singer John Brack († May 1, 2006). The focus is on fast boogie-woogie, rhythm and blues as well as blues and classics.

In 1968 Che founded the boogie-woogie duo Che & Ray with Raymond Fein . In the same year they won the Federal Middle School Jazz Festival on two grand pianos.

Che Peyer focuses primarily on the right hand in his piano playing, with Ray supporting him on the bass. This is followed by individual and joint appearances, where Che not only appears on the piano but also increasingly on the guitar and the blues harp. In 1975 Che Peyer gave their first full-length concert with Ray Fein in the Bucheggplatz Theater in Zurich under the name Che & Ray. With more than 3200 concerts in Germany and abroad, they reach over three million concert-goers and enjoy a good media presence in Europe.

In 2005 Che & Ray decide to take an artistic break and Che Peyer goes his own way. He founded the Live Style Concerts . These concerts take place in his house. He performs solo on the concert grand piano as well as on the electric piano and the blues harp.

In 2006 Che Peyer released his second solo album: Boogie, Blues & More. Since 2010 Che Peyer only appears as CHE. Under this name he also released his third solo album in 2010: CHE in concert, which achieved gold status in 2017.
