John Brack

John Brack (born April 4, 1950 in Zurich as Hans-Heinrich Brack ; † May 1, 2006 ) was one of the most successful Swiss country and gospel singers, also known as Mr. Swiss Country .

Already in his youth he learned to flute, clarinet and guitar and founded the band Knights Of Blues, with which he also appeared as a singer for the first time at the age of 14. After numerous appearances as a guest and blues singer with Che & Ray , he concentrated on country music in the late 1970s.

John Brack has released over 30 CDs in the directions of country, country rock and southern gospel and has sold over 380,000 records. He was awarded a gold and a platinum record in Switzerland . He was particularly known for his gospel concerts at Christmas and Easter.

In 1999 Bo Katzman produced the single "With a little help from my friends" together with John Brack and Steve Lee ( Gotthard ), which at number 18 was his highest new entry in the Swiss charts.

In 2006 he received the Prix ​​Walo in the Country / Gospel category for the second time . He received this award back in 1995 when this division was first awarded.

John Brack died of pneumonia on May 1, 2006 at the age of 56.
