During this time he also worked as a musician and singer in the Georg Bielser Septett dance orchestra from Pratteln . He later played in various entertainment orchestras.

Rock music

In 1976 he released a single and an album in Germany as a bass player in the rock group "Monroe" . In 1979 the first publication appeared under the pseudonym "Beau Katzman": "The Kat", an album produced in Frankfurt am Main. The album "Beausitive" followed in 1981, but there was no success.

1983 Bo Katzman appeared with the "Bo Katzman Gang", but the commercial success was still lacking. Only the third album "In The Jungle" contained the first hit: "I'm In Love With My Typewriter". A year later, the singles "A Little Too Much" and "Who's That Woman" hit the national charts. In 1985 he founded the children's choir "Katz Kids", which grew into one of the largest children's choirs in Europe. The single "We Are The Katz Kids" was released by EMI in Switzerland.

In 1986 another album was released: "Katz People", which entered the charts from 0 to 11 in Switzerland and was the greatest success to date. The album and the single "Working on the Galley" were released across Europe in the fall.

In 1987 he founded the "Bo Katzman Choir", which today has between 100 and 150 members and claims to be the largest gospel choir in Europe. Between 1987 and 1990 Bo Katzman was successful with his new formation "Bo Katzman & the Soul Cats".

In 1990 Bo Katzman appeared with his "Katz Kids" and the song "Celebration Day" as the first Swiss person to appear on the TV show Wetten, dass ..? on. The song was the official song of the first international youth winter games.

On May 29, 2014, the Bo Katzman Gang performed in the original cast on the occasion of the "National Summer Games" on the Bundesplatz in Bern. At the end of September the new bonus CD "Katz People" with three previously unreleased songs was released.

Gospel

The 1990s were mainly characterized by publications and annual Swiss tours by the "Bo Katzman Choir". In 1998, for the first time in ten years, a Bo Katzman publication without the participation of the choir appeared: the single "Voices of Paradise". The song was awarded gold in Switzerland.

In 1999, together with John Brack and Steve Lee ( Gotthard ) , Katzman produced the single "With a little help from my friends" which, at number 18, was his highest new entry in the Swiss charts. In the same year, the Katzman Choir's CD "Heaven & Earth" achieved gold status within four weeks .

2001 Bo Katzman toured the Swiss clubs again with his old rock hits. Despite great success, it was Bo Katzman's final farewell as a rock musician who wanted to devote himself exclusively to gospel. In 2005 Bo Katzman was awarded for ten gold records within ten years. In 2012 Bo Katzman received the 13th gold record for the CD "Winter Nights" and is celebrating "25 years of the Bo Katzman Choir" on a major Swiss tour with his choir.

In 2014 Bo Katzman went on tour with a new show and a new choir.
