The ChemSite (also ChemSite initiative), which is regionally positioned in the Ruhr area in North Rhine-Westphalia, connects companies, universities and research institutions along the value chain in the chemical industry . history

ChemSite started in 1997 as a public-private partnership in which partners from the chemical industry, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the municipalities of the region, the district government in Münster and other partners from politics, business and the public sector work together.
