Sandra Adair

Sandra Adair (* 1952 in Carlsbad , New Mexico as Sandra Estrin ) is an American film editor . She was best known through her long-term collaboration with director Richard Linklater .

Life

Sandra Adair was born in New Mexico in 1952 to Herman and Rachel Estrin. In the early 1960s, the Carlsbad family moved to Las Vegas . Adair later moved to Los Angeles .

Her brother Robert Estrin worked there as a film editor since the 1970s. Under him, she worked as an assistant editor on feature films and documentaries such as Desert Hearts (1985), Creation of the Universe (1985), What Happened to Kerouac? (1986) or Internal Affairs - Trust him, he's a cop (1990).

In 1991 she settled in Austin , Texas . Since 1993 she has worked several times on films by director Richard Linklater. Occasionally she worked as a co-producer for his films.

She has received several prizes for her work. At the 2015 Academy Awards , she was nominated for Best Editing for her work on Boyhood .

Adair is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , the American Cinema Editors (ACE), and the Austin Film Society.

Her marriage to Dwight Adair had two children.
