The Chempark (own notation: CHEMPARK , formerly known as Bayer factory ), with its sites in Leverkusen , Dormagen and Krefeld-Uerdingen one of the largest chemical parks in Europe. At the end of 2016 there were around 48,000 employees from around 70 companies located here and numerous service providers work on an area of ​​around 11 square kilometers. Around a third of the entire chemical production in North Rhine-Westphalia takes place here. The operating company of the Chempark is Currenta , which operated as Bayer Industry Services until the end of 2007 .

The three locations are former Bayer AG plants that have been developed into chemical parks since 2001 as part of a change in strategy. The Chempark brand has been used for all three plants since January 2008.
