The Currenta GmbH & Co. OHG (proper spelling CURRENTA, until 31 December 2007. Renamed Bayer Industry Services GmbH & Co. OHG - BIS) in Leverkusen is currently a joint venture of Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets , 60% of the shares, and of Lanxess Deutschland GmbH, which has a 40% stake.

history

The company (BIS) was founded in 2002 as one of three service companies that were spun off from Bayer AG in the course of restructuring. When Lanxess was founded in 2005, it took over a 40% stake in what was then BIS. On August 6, 2019, Bayer and Lanxess announced that they would sell their shares in Macquarie . Currenta was valued at 3.5 billion euros in the transaction. On November 30, 2019, the former shareholder ( Bayer AG ) sold her 60% stake in Macquarie. Lanxess Deutschland GmbH will also sell its shares in the first half of 2020 (planned: end of April) , so that Currenta will then be wholly owned by Macquarie.
