The Chemiker-Zeitung ( Chem.-Ztg. ) Was a scientific journal of chemistry. The magazine was founded and published in 1877 by Georg Krause (1849–1927). In 1959 the journal Chemische Apparatur was merged with the Chemiker-Zeitung, after which an independent section “Chemical Apparatus” was continued under the editing of H. Vollbrecht. From the beginning of the 1970s, in addition to scientific articles, current rubrics such as “Vom Tage”, “Chemiebörse” as well as topics from plant construction, process engineering, measurement and control technology as well as analysis and laboratory technology were taken up.

After the seizure of power by the Nazis, the chief editor was Walter Roth dismissed (1873-1950), the editor in chief took over Hermann Staudinger .

In 1945 the Chemiker-Zeitung had to stop its publication. In 1949, R. Hanslian founded the Deutsche Chemiker-Zeitschrift in West Berlin , which one year later merged with the von Eugen Müller (1905–1976) journal with the traditional title Chemiker-Zeitung. Editor-in-chief was Ernst Baum (until 1969), followed by Heinz Möllinger until 1992.

In 1951 the Chemiker-Zeitung was published by Dr. Alfred Hüthig Verlag (Heidelberg) taken over.

In 1992, it merged with the Journal for Practical Chemistry (founded in 1834), which was incorporated into the Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis magazine in 2001, published by WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
