Chemnitz basket girls

The Chemnitzer Basketgirls eV is a basketball club from Chemnitz , Saxony. It was founded in mid-1999. The aim of the association is to further develop and promote basketball for women in both popular and competitive sports in order to maintain and further consolidate the Chemnitz location as a center of excellence. In addition, the basket girls concentrate in their broad and performance-oriented youth work on training suitable players for the selected teams in the age groups and for the Bundesliga squad. The club has provided at least 75% of all Saxon selection players for years. The club won the German Youth Championship in 1999, 2001 and 2005 and also took second to fourth places several times. There were six players in the team that won the runner-up title at the school world championship in May 2003.

The service department of the Basketgirls is called ChemCats Chemnitz and was accepted into the general association in 2002.
