Chen Kun ( Chinese  陳坤  /  陈坤 , Pinyin Chén Kūn , Jyutping Can ⁴ Kwan ¹ ; born February 4, 1976 in Chongqing , People's Republic of China ) is a multi-award-winning Chinese singer and actor . In China he is one of the most famous contemporary artists.

Life

Chen began his singing career in various night clubs. In 1995 he became a member of the China Oriental Song and Dance Ensemble (now the China National Song and Dance Ensemble ). From 1996 he took acting classes at the Beijing Film Academy . In 1999 he had his first role in a film called National Anthem . He achieved greater fame in 2001 with the television drama Love in Shanghai . Numerous other film engagements followed, Chen also appears again and again as a singer and enjoys a comparatively high level of popularity. In the Chinese microblogging service Sina Weibo , Chen has 70 million followers, a greater direct reach than any other celebrity in any short message service in the world.

In 2012, Chen became the second famous Chinese male to have a wax figure erected at Madam Tussauds in Shanghai. He has been appointed UNICEF Ambassador to China.

In 2014 he became a product ambassador for the Huawei's Honor brand in China.

In 2015, Chen became a global ambassador for the Giorgio Armani brand and the luxury watch brand Baume & Mercier .
