Chen Xi (politician)

Chen Xi ( Chinese  陈希 , Pinyin Chén Xī ; born September 1953 in Putian, Fujian Province ) is a Chinese politician and since October 2017 a member of the 19th Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, as well as the head of the organization department and secretary of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China and director of the Central Party School .

Career

Chen was born in Putian, Fujian Province in September 1953. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1978. He graduated from Tsinghua Universityand graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. He then completed a master's degree from Tsinghua University. He was a member of the 17th Central Committee of the Central Commission on Discipline and Inspection and Deputy Minister for Education. From 2011 to 2013, he was the first secretary of the general secretariat, vice chairman of the CCP executive committee, and secretary of the leadership group of the China Science and Technology Society. Since 2013 he has been Deputy Director of the Central Committee's Organizational Department. He was a member of the 18th CPC Central Committee and is a member of the 19th Political Bureau of the CCP. Chen is one of President Xi Jinping's allies .
